Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition Walkthrough Discussion TrueAchievements forum thread. Grapple up and destroy Black Mask's mask #14, then go right and defeat the thugs.
I'm having a bit of a problem now though. I'm having trouble trying to get the acetylene torch in the Cell Block area, every time I fall down the opening Batman just won't seem to grab on to the ledge half way down, he just plummets straight to the bottom. Is there any special trick to it? I've been trying for about an hour now and it just won't seem to happen.Hi, fortunately, you're not alone on that.
It took me a few tries to get it myself. I'd suggest dropping down from the left side of the opening without running (so you don't grab the other side) then immediately holding A to glide to the left below where the bird cage was and you should be able to see the RB prompt for the vent leading to the Acetylene torch. If you don't, immediately salvage that attempt by spamming RB to get back up to the top thus saving yourself the few minutes it takes to go back around.
I'll try to find the video that demonstrates it. Thanks for the feedback by the way, I appreciate it.
Posted on 04 September 14 at 17:07 Thanks for getting back to me, I think it might be my game that's the problem. I'm fairly sure that the RB prompt isn't coming up on that ledge.
I've fallen down the left side, the right side, the middle. While holding A, without holding A.
Mashing RB, trying to push RB at the right second. I just get stuck at the bottom and have to restart my checkpoint.
I'm assuming you can definitely get it on your first time through the area on the way to the exercise yard, and I don't have to come back for it later. Posted on 05 September 14 at 16:21 said: I got it!
I was trying to get it before the Bronze Tiger fight and couldn't get the RB prompt to appear. Went back after the Bronze Tiger fight and got it first try. Seems like you have to wait until then before you can get it. Thanks for the help, I managed to get it first time with your tips when it finally worked. No problem! Glad I could help! It might be worth investigating if indeed it's only possible to get it after the Bronze Tiger fight. I'll test it out when I get the chance, and if that turns out to be the case, I'll add it to the walkthrough.

I tried several times to grapple that ledge but never saw an RB prompt. I then stumbled upon this thread and went back to that room right after defeating Bronze Tiger and got the RB prompt on the first try. Posted on 29 November 14 at 20:44 said: said: said: I got it!

The walkthrough has been updated to mention that. Posted on 12 February 15 at 04:23 Let me start by saying what a great job you've done on this Walkthrough which makes it so much easier finding all those freaking collectibles. Any way I stumbled upon a small problem, wouldn't go as far as to say an error more like somethings missing that makes it hard to follow the walkthrough but let me explain: In the 1st Playthrough during the INDUSTRIAL part, easiest way to find is from the Grundy Achievements from there it's the 9th section which goes like this: 'In this room, grapple up and destroy Black Mask's mask #14, then go right and defeat the thugs.
Once that's done, drop down from there and enter the small hole in the wall, to then scan the Rubber hose in a pool of fluid clue (part of the 'Breakout Break-In' detective case). Next, exit back through the hole, and scan and knock down the panel, to then enter the vent and exit through the grate. Now this small hole in the wall I just couldn't find spent 20-30mins looking for it & finally went to youtube to check what I had done wrong & found that after you defeat the thugs & have to drop down you actually have to go towards the screen but you came up from the left & the way forward is on the right & both are also a place you need to drop down too making it (IMO) rather difficult to know that you have to drop down towards the screen so to spare others the same problem I thought I'd add it here & maybe you could add it to the walkthrough but hey it might just be me:). Product Information. Gamers return to the crime-addled streets of Gotham City to witness the Caped Crusader's formative years as a vigilante in Batman: Arkham Origins. Set five years before the acclaimed Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games, Arkham Origins stars a raw, unrefined Batman who is still an enigma to the police, but enough of a menace to the underworld that crime boss Black Mask has put a $50-million bounty on his head. The action finds players using detective skills, gadgets, and brute force to fend off eight would-be assassins, including Deadshot, Firefly, and Deathstroke.
Though developmental duties have been transferred from Rocksteady Studios to WB Games Montreal, the gameplay in Arkham Origins remains similar to the previous titles, with players exploring open environments, using new gadgets to access previously unavailable areas, and employing a mix of stealth and direct assaults to take down foes. Gamers earn experience points as they advance through the story, allowing them to upgrade Batman's gadgets and combat abilities.
The game does feature new kinds of enemies, including martial arts specialists who are adept at blocking and countering attacks, and powerful enforcers who can't be harmed until stripped of their armor. Arkham Origins also features new gadgets, including the Remote Claw, which lets Batman pull two objects or characters together at a high rate of speed, and the Shock Gloves, which can be used to block electrical attacks, stun foes, and short-circuit some objects in the environment. The game places a greater emphasis on Batman's detective skills, with players analyzing crime scenes all over the city, and in addition to numerous side missions and collectibles, gamers can head to the Batcave to take on combat challenge maps. And for the first time in the series, Arkham Origins includes a multiplayer component, with three playable factions consisting of Joker and his minions, Bane and his gang, and the team of Batman and Robin.
Awesome game I couldn't wait to play the game when I got it. I love every second of the game play.
Once I get my share of the game time, the controller is glued to my hands and I don't stop playing till I have played my heart out. The game has various twists and turns which keeps the game play moving and fascinating. I also like the fact it is in 3rd person format which means I can see the character move and not just the point of a gun or a knife as is common in first person action games. I prefer 3rd person games like this one as I can control the game play and character movements easier. Other games along this line that I enjoy for the PlayStation is the Nathan Drake collection.
Verified purchase: Yes Condition: New. Excellent game! All the Batman Arkham games are great, but for some reason (and I can't place my finger on it) this is my favorite of the 4. I HIGHLY recommend getting this game! If you are going to play thru the series, I suggest playing them in the story's chronological order, not the order they were released.so play this game first as it lays down the ground work of the Rocksteady trilogy's story. I'm sorry I missed out on this game last generation, but I'm glad that I'm playing it on my Xbox One X with its built in supper sampling cause that is the definitive way to experience this game and indeed the entirety of the 4 game Arkham series!
Verified purchase: Yes Condition: Pre-owned. Repetitious bosses but refreshing encounters and those wonderful gadgets. You can look up the game history in how it all ties in with the prior two (Arkham Asylum & Arkham City).
This one plays different, and if you already played Arkham City, you'll be familiar with some of the landscape and button sequences; this one has more and therefore new. Timing in counter-striking is still everything, and you do get more gadgets as the main story unfolds. You also will increase with new moves as you perform certain actions with the thugs out in the street. The scenes of the jet is only the load screen unfortunately. There are side missions of solving other crimes just like Arkham City. The down side?
You can beat the crap out of everyone in the city but you're only going to upgrade so far until you face certain milestones in your primary mission. 2nd pain is the r epetitious actions of the bosses.
No matter what you've mastered, there is only a few actions you can pull off and you're NOT going to win otherwise; there are certain actions which must occur. The good news is that if you are patient enough to learn from your mistakes, you'll see the pattern and thus win the battle through the correct response and timing. Aside from that, the game is worthy of playing for story. This holds especially true for those of you who love the whole Batman genre. See you on the streets and in the shadows! A good addition to the Arkham series. I was excited to see a new Batman game to come out.
This game is a prequel to the other. Arkham games. The first thing I notice was the graphics. It was different from the others in the series. At first it was off putting, but after a while you get used to it. The gameplay itself is just like the other two games.
So, veteran players will have an easy time just picking the game up and playing. I enjoyed seeing other batman/ DC Villians make an appearence and some of the boss fights are epic. But I hated the creators using the same batman villian as the main villian. With Batman's HUGE rogues gallery why keep rehashing the same one. Overall, it's a great game with a good story.
